Budget boost!

Infrastructure has received a booster shot of Rs 70,000 crore and another Rs 24,000 crore of increased outlays on roads and railways. This would take the existing spend on infrastructure for 2015-16 from Rs 2,10,000 to Rs 3,04,000 crore plus the funds created as an outcome of the seed money invested in National Investment & Infrastructure Fund which in turn will find its way into infrastructure funding companies like IRFC & NHB where they will evolve with a factor of ten.

Despite the Rs 2,500-crore concrete equipment industry registered nearly 40 per cent fall in the market and is under severe pressure, there are tremendous growth opportunities in the long term.

Towering Tall

The real estate and power sectors will show a tremendous growth in the next 2-3 years. As per projections, the tower crane requirement will increase to 30-40 per cent in these two years. Current demand growth for tower cranes is mostly from realty sector.

Liebherr plans to launch the next model for Indian market

The major demand in India is for the real estate sector, so, 5-tonne capacity cranes are the main demand for this sector. The demand for higher capacity cranes can increase in future gradually but still the 5-tonne capacity crane may have a major demand for real estate sector.

Our products are technologically way ahead

The market is picking up. The market demand for 5T-6T tower crane is about 350 units; while the demand for 8T-10T is about 30-40 units and 12T and above is 25-30 units a year. The overall size is 400-450 units with approximate value of Rs 3,000-3,300 million.

In the third quarter of 2012-13, the power sector has deepened into gloom further as electrical equipment industry shrank 10.5 per cent. Turnover contracted 10 per cent, declining for the third consecutive quarter, and falling in double digits for the first time.
